Bird enthusiasts can join a naturalist for a guided walk appropriate for beginner and advanced birders. No reservations necessary. The Audubon Society has designated Red Rock State Park as part of the Lower Oak Creek Important Birding Area (IBA) because of the many species that live or visit here. Please meet up with the leader on the viewing deck above the Visitor Center. Bring comfortable hiking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, plenty of water, binoculars, and a bird book if you have one.

The 14th Annual RunSedona event (formally the Sedona Marathon Event) is taking place on February 2, 2019. Gather your family and friends to start your year off with fitness goals on a course that you will never forget.
This boutique destination running event is expected to host more than 3,000 runners and walkers who will participate in one of three breathtaking panoramic courses: 5K, 10K and Half Marathon.
The course will take registrants through the scenic Coconino National Forest District, known for its magical iron-clad formations, and onto the streets of one of the most beautiful cities in the country – Sedona, AZ, recently placed on the “Top 10 Best Small Towns in America” list!
Spectators, supporters and participants will be treated to an Expo and Packet Pick-Up at Posse Grounds Park featuring vendors that will inspire and entertain both locals and visitors alike. All registrants will also have access to a fully loaded Virtual Goodie bag, a gender specific commemorative event tech tee, with all finishers receiving the coveted Sedona custom finishers medal.

On the 1st Friday of each month, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, members of the Sedona Gallery Association offer a unique monthly showcase highlighting artists, special exhibits, and art events. These special art receptions give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene. All guests are welcome to attend free of charge. Sedona has a thriving arts scene, replete with galleries that nurture the careers of both established and emerging artists. We have become what the New York Times refers to as a “New West Enclave” delighting both new and established collectors.

The Full Moon hike is led by a volunteer naturalist, and gives hikers the rare opportunity to enjoy the sunset and moonrise from an overlook and return by the light of the moon. Hikers will also learn about local flora and fauna, archaeology and geology. A $5.00 non-refundable program fee per person is required in addition to regular park entry fees. The hike lasts 2 to 2 ½ hours and covers a distance of approximately two miles. The next upcoming date: Tuesday, May 29 2018 from 6:15 PM to 8:45 PM. Registration ends May 28th.
